Parental Engagement

We value the importance of parents* and school working closely together to support pupils’ wellbeing and learning. Mrs Ikuta is the lead teacher for Parental Engagement. (*Please note, in this sense, the term ‘parent’ is used to refer to parents, guardians and carers).

At the beginning of the year, we hold ‘Meet the Teacher’ meetings that allow families to meet staff in their child’s year group and gain an understanding of key messages linked to the school day. Information shared at these meetings is also shared on Year group pages.

We offer five ‘Stay and Learn’ sessions throughout the school year which allow families and pupils to work alongside each other completing a range of curriculum-based activities. In the autumn and spring term, we have Parents’ Evenings that allow staff to share important information about attitudes to learning and achievement. These also allows families to share any relevant information with school.

We offer informative workshops that families are invited to attend throughout the year; Read Write Inc for Parents/Carers; SEND Graduated Approach; Autism Awareness are a few to mention.

If you would like to suggest further ways that we can support parental engagement, please contact Mrs Ikuta via admin@stocktonwood.liverpool.sch.uk
