Our school community will RISE together!

Neurodiversity Celebration Week
17th – 23rd March 2025
Next week children from Year 1 to Year 6 will be taking part in activities focussing on the celebration of neurodiversity. The children will learn about Autism, Dyslexia, ADHD and Dyspraxia, as well as other diversities. Your child may come home from school with questions and facts as we celebrate all of the positive aspect of being Neurodivergent! If you have any questions please speak to your child’s class teacher or Mrs Kent (SENCo).

Summer 1 fun!
5H have had so much fun learning this half term! There’s been DT week, well-being and sports day! We also celebrated the Science week engineering projects, who won certificates. Well done for all your hard work! Have a lovely half term. See you on the 3rd June for the final half term of the year!!

Magic at Stockton Wood
We have our very own magician at Stockton Wood! He’s been showing off all of his tricks and blowing our socks off here in 5H!

Aspirations in year 5!
Today we got to try out a new role as a firefighter. This was great fun and encouraged some of us to consider this as a future job!

Refugee week
Our assembly today was about raising awareness of what it means to be a refugee – Community is a superpower!
Many countries have many people that are forced to flee for their safety.
One of our children ended assembly with her own thoughts on being a community – “People are getting used to being around different types of people and the world is a colourful place!”

Aspirations week – Travel agent!
Year 5 would really like to thank our lovely visitor for coming in to talk to us about his chosen career.
We learnt that as a travel agent, as well as enjoying travelling, you need to be good at listening, researching and managing money. You will also need to be good at interacting with other people, building trust and problem solving.

O said it was a very interesting presentation!
R said she would like to become a travel agent when she is older because he inspired her!

Big thank you to Harry for coming in and telling us all about his life as a fire fighter and at the prison service. We learnt so much about these fantastic jobs and his life.

Quidditch day!
Year 5 had so much fun with Quidditch. From the start, where the hat decided our team name according to our qualities, to the celebrations after the games. Well done Ravenclaw!

Aspirations – Lifesavers!
5M are proud to share the news that these children have worked extremely hard in the application process of becoming our future ‘school banking’ team. During the interview stage, they were successful in securing a role.
Well done children!

It’s been a week since the start of the new school year and year 5 have settled in well. We’ve already delved straight into our curriculum and are having lots of fun learning.

PSHE
Year 6 had to build a bridge to a particular brief, in teams. Working together was fun but things did get a bit tense during the testing!
As a community we RISE!

Hip Hop in Year 6!
So far we have added some drum and bass to our musical marvels. We can’t wait to share our final tracks!

School Council Elections
Year 6 delivered some great speeches this morning.
