In Year 4, we have started Art Week by experimenting with a range of sketching pencils. We then used a view finder to draw sections of ‘Tiger in a Tropic Storm’.

We started our Art week with a drawing from memory warm up and then drawing with shade and detail.

For Art week reception have been exploring Spring animals. We used cotton wool, glue and paint to make a chick or a lamb.

In reception we have been making our very own superhero’s for Art Week! We have used scissors, glue, card and sticks to make them.
















Art- clay
Today we were so lucky, we got to work with an artist to make a tile with tress and buildings on. Finally we made our mouse to go on it. We have learnt so many new skills during our lesson and mostly importantly had fun.

This week for Art Week we made our very own superhero town. We had lots of fun using the water paints.

This week we have been making Totem Poles in Art, linked to our North America topic in Geography.


Year 2 Art
This week was art week, we created sculptures using paper folding and cutting techniques. We learnt what a sculpture is and thought of ways to improve our creations.


Art week – clay sculptures
5M have made cross-curricular links between Art and Geography this week – learning about Totem Poles and then designing and sculpting our own.
We haven’t quite finished our sculptures yet, so watch this space for the end results.




Wire Trees


Last week, we created wire tree sculptures. We twisted the wire to secure a trunk base, then added branches and beads.

Reception created their own superhero city using; paint, card and glue. We were inspired by the book Juniper Jupiter!






















Year 5 Art
5M are working hard to use primary colours to paint the totem poles we made last week. We’re really happy with the finished product.


Mother’s Day

Year 3 have been drawing in the style of Keith Haring. We have explored different types of shading and worked with oil pastels.

Eid Al Fitr



Today we discussed the Islamic celebration of Eid Al Fitr. Then, we looked aT and discussed Islamic art. Finally we created our own work inspired by Islamic Art.

Art Week🎨
This week we have been artists. We have made our very own superhero town using water paints. We even had to use out cutting and sticking skills to make the buildings. We had lots of fun! 🖌️





Pixel Art

A great first lesson of our new unit, the children did a great job designing pixel art using pen and paper.

Class 6MR have been finding out about an incredible architect called Zaha Hadid. She designed the most amazing buildings and we discovered that she designed some funky looking shoes as well! Not sure we’d be able to walk in them though 😂

Wonderful start to ‘Art Week’ in Year One. Our focus this week is drawing and we have completed a ‘Draw with Rob’ warm up, explored mark making and produced a lovely sketch of our outdoor area.

Y2 have made a super start to art week – they have been colour mixing to make different shades and tones of red and yellow.

This week we are learning all about an artist called Paul Klee. We have learnt he uses shapes when painting his pictures. Today we made our own self portraits, we used an our maths knowledge of shapes to help us! We are true Artists🎨















Y2 Art Week
Y2 have been researching the artist, David Hockney and finding out about his work. They have started to draw their own landscape in the style of one of his paintings, Garrowby Hill.






Art week – Painting!
This week we have been painting in year 5.
We have studied the artist Frida Kahlo and painted portraits that incorporate her vibrant style, taking influence from Frida to create a colour contrast.








Y6 Art
We have been looking at inspirational architecture. Zaha Hadid was an Iraqi-born British architect, artist and designer. She designed the iconic Heydar Aliyev Centre in Azerbaijan which is famous for its distinctive flowing, curved style. We studied wavy lines and we upscaled a picture of her famous building.

5H enjoyed art week last week. Painting self portraits of Frida Kahlo. It was great to see the focus and attention to detail on the children’s faces.

Bastille Day
Year 3 learned about Bastille Day yesterday, it is a French holiday which celebrates freedom throughout France. We celebrated the curriculum we have learnt this year and had a special lunch!






Self – portraits

The children worked really hard this afternoon drawing self portraits, they thought about line, proportion and detail.

Year One
Year One have enjoyed the return to school and seeing all of their friends again. They have been sharing their summer news, taking turns when playing, practising counting skills and creating self portraits!
