School Council
School council represents the pupil voice of the Stockton Wood Primary School community, encouraging pupil-led change. Through our School Council, we ensure that all the children at Stockton Wood Primary School are cared for, supported and listened to. School council looks to encourage and emulate the democratic processes of society. Class representatives are selected through an electoral campaign in which pupils present their strengths and discuss ways in which they can contribute to improving the quality of school life. These pupils become excellent role models, representing the values of Stockton Wood Primary School as our student leaders. The elected council consists of two representatives from each class, who are responsible for raising the concerns and ideas of their peers.
The council meet bi-weekly throughout the school year with a delegated teacher. These sessions are pupil-led and discuss the recent issues put forward by their constituents. Pupils are responsible for planning and organising whole school events such as Comic Relief, Red Nose Day and Remembrance week. They are crucial for fundraising across the school and have been pivotal in raising money for excellent causes within the local community.
