Today we got to try out a new role as a firefighter. This was great fun and encouraged some of us to consider this as a future job!

Today, as part of aspirations week, Year 2 met with Kate and Josh who are paramedics… they told us all about their job and let us look at the equipment they use.

Aspirations Week
As part of our aspirations week, Abbie came into school to speak to us about mechanical engineering. She was an inspiration to us all! We enjoyed the building bridges challenge. The bridges that were built by Carter, Jacob, Ana and Sapphire were strong enough to hold 3 to 4 metal spanners! We have some fabulous creative problem solvers in Y6!

Aspirations week – Travel agent!
Year 5 would really like to thank our lovely visitor for coming in to talk to us about his chosen career.
We learnt that as a travel agent, as well as enjoying travelling, you need to be good at listening, researching and managing money. You will also need to be good at interacting with other people, building trust and problem solving.

O said it was a very interesting presentation!
R said she would like to become a travel agent when she is older because he inspired her!

Aspirations Week
This week we have been thinking about all of the amazing things we can do when we grow up. On Monday, we were able to come to school dressed as something that we think we’d like to be when we are bigger! We had some doctors, nurses, an explorer, police officers, fire fighters…we had such a lovely day talking about the important jobs.



Aspirations week – Lawyer
Year 5 had a wonderful session this morning with a lawyer named Collette.
Some fantastic questions were asked and answered, resulting in many of our children now liking the idea of becoming a lawyer.

Y2 Aspirations Week
Thank you to Becky the blood technician who visited us in school today. She told us all about her job, what she wears and the equipment she uses. Some of us now definitely want to be scientists when we are bigger!

Aspirations Week
Year 3 have been really inspired during Aspirations Week. The children had the opportunity to dress up as what they would like to be when they grow up. We have also had people come in to speak about their career, such as: an FA representative, a nurse, a biomedical scientist, a woodworker, a travel agent and a musician.

We’ve had a great afternoon with our special visitor Carrie. Carrie shared her experience of being an actress and all the fantastic parts that are involved her job. We got to try on some costumes and read some lines aloud.

Aspirations week – Biomedical scientist
We ended our aspirations week with a chat from a lovely Biomedical scientist!
She told us all about the interesting journey of a blood sample and once again, many of us asked some great questions about blood.

Aspirations – Lifesavers!
5M are proud to share the news that these children have worked extremely hard in the application process of becoming our future ‘school banking’ team. During the interview stage, they were successful in securing a role.

Drama- Aspirations week


Carrie came in to speak about drama on Friday. She brought in props for the children to use and lines for them to act out using expression.

Aspirations Day at Trafford Hall
Year 5 have taken part in an aspirations day today. Learning about different careers within the energy industry, as well as learning about how to be sustainable and taking part in a scavenger hunt to learn essential survival skills. It was a great day and happily the rain held off.



Year 6 Data Art Project
6M had the best day at Liverpool ACC creating artwork linked to data collected about the lives of those living in Merseyside.
Together we created a large, walkable labyrinth, using colours, artwork and 3D objects that represent well-being data from the Liverpool City Region.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the event and represented our school beautifully.

Other children enjoyed the chance to be creative and find peace through art.
Our fabulous artist Elaine, commented on how impressed she was with the children’s enthusiasm, commitment and dedication. She particularly noted that 6M were inspiring.
The festival of Data is a free event, that is running this weekend, if you would like to attend with your family and see all of our hard work.
















People Who Help Us
Today Reception was visited by the police and paramedics. We learnt all about these jobs and how police officers and paramedics can help us and our community.













Fire Station
Reception had an amazing time visiting the fire station today. We got to see all the equipment that the fire services use. We got to see the fire truck and hear the sirens!




















Nurse
We had a visit from the Nurses. We learnt all about our teeth and how we can take care of them. We learnt that you need to brush your teeth 2 times a day for 2 minutes.

















Year 5 & 6 Author visit
Olivia Wakeford came to our school this afternoon to tell us all about how she became a writer.
We were inspired by how much of her life experiences have gone into writing her stories.

Positive Footprints Interview Prep
In the Autumn term, year 5 attended a careers day in Chester, where they spoke to different companies regarding a range of jobs. This week we have continued some of this work as part of the Positive Footprints programme, exploring skills and qualities for their future. Today we did some practice interviews with each other to get used to talking about ourselves and our achievements.




PE
Reception have been working on their fundamental skills during PE. This week we have been training to become astronauts. We have used the hurdles to practice our moon walk. Walked along the space ladder to test our balance. We have also practiced our space jumps in the hoops.

we are so proud of our friend for being the winner of the competition.



5H Holi Celebrations


Last week, we celebrated Holi, a Hindu festival celebrating love, new beginnings and the importance of good over evil. 5H reflected on the things they would like to ‘let go of’ and what they wish to ‘grow’. The children discussed and shared their goals on what they would like to achieve over the rest of the school year.

Firefighter Visit
Year 4 had a visit from Cheshire fire service. We had lots of discussions about the role and fire safety tips. We even got to try on a firefighter’s uniform.




Airport Trip
3M had a great day visiting Liverpool John Lennon Airport today! We discovered lots of different jobs that there are at the airport, had a tour around each area and finally learned the history of the airport!

A visit from a nurse!

















We have been learning about different jobs, and today we had a visit from a real life nurse! Nurse Hayley taught us all about her job, what she does to help and which things she uses. We listed to each others hearts, we practised using syringes, and even bandaged our legs and arms! Thank you, Nurse Hayley! ❤️

5D – Aspirations day 2!
Year 5 met some lovely people from Adient yesterday, who told us all about what they do for work and even let us try some of their equipment! 5D really enjoyed speaking to each visitor and are looking forward to meeting more people this week!

Thank you to Mr Boyd who came in to discuss his job with the children. The children were fascinated with his tools and many would love a job fixing and building things like him.

This week, Year 4 have been very lucky to welcome lots of visitors who came in to talk about their jobs. We have loved learning about different careers, asking questions and finding out what people do in their day-to-day work.






Year 5 -Aspirations week
On Tuesday , we welcomed several visitors into our school to speak about their careers. Claire Robinson, one of our school governors, shared her career journey through a fun guessing game for the children to take part in. We also enjoyed having visitors from Adient, one including speed challenges and looking into the car seats the company make. We finished the day with an interesting talk from the Reverend and how she got into her role.









5H -Aspirations week
Today, we welcomed Jan and Jim from launchpad to our class. Jim shared his experiences as a veteran and explained to the children how he earned his medals. Jan spoke about the activities she organises to support veterans’ mental health . The children enthusiastically suggested a range of activities that they think would be great to support well-being.




Year 6 Aspirations Week
Year 6 enjoyed an inspiring aspirations week, meeting visitors from a wide range of professions including HR, Finance, Health and Safety, Car production, school governance and the church. Thank you to those that gave up their time to visit us!
Our guests shared their career journeys, the people who inspired them and the challenges they overcame along the way.
Through their stories of perseverance, leadership, service and following their passion, they encouraged us to think about our own future aspirations and the positive impact we can have on others. thank you to all our visitors for inspiring the next generation!










Aspirations week

We had a visit from two very helpful people who will be fitting some new toilets for us over the summer! We requested rainbow toilets 🌈, so we are hoping they don’t forget to include that small detail when they send their plans to Mrs Clovis…we asked them questions about what they will be taking out of our bathroom, what new things they will bring, and what tools they will be using.
