5D took some time at the end of the day today to debate the proposed social media ban due to come into effect in 2027. The children shared some very insightful views, and the majority agreed that although they would not like the ban to happen, they could understand the reasons behind it. Some children felt that, rather than a ban, there should be tighter restrictions and clearer guidelines, while others were looking forward to the potential benefits, such as reduced access to unsuitable content, less bullying, and more opportunities to enjoy life away from screens. I was incredibly impressed by how mature, thoughtful, and respectful our debate was. Great work 5D!
